Linzhi, “Little Switzerland of Tibet”
Linzhi was called Gongbu in ancient time. Linzhi is transliterated from Tibetan “nying khri” or “nyang khri”, meaning the throne of nyang’s family or the sun’s throne. Located in the southeast of Tibet and the middle and lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, Lingzhi boasts the deepest canyon of the world Yarlung Tsangpo River Grand Canyon and the third deepest canyon of the world Parlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon.
